A couple of days ago, I decided to make a snack that satisfies my sweet tooth, and incorporates healthy ingredients. I have made plenty of protein/energy bites in the past, and I knew I wanted to try using my new Organisource protein and collagen powder in them. So I looked over a few recipes and came up with the following:
• 2 cups 100% whole grain old fashioned oats
• 2 tablespoons flax seeds
• 2 tablespoons chia seeds
• 1 cup nut butter
• 2/3 cup 100% maple syrup
• 1/2 cup granola
• 2 scoops Organisource Chocolate Keto Collagen with MCT Powder
The type of nut butter and granola you use for this recipe is totally up to you. For my energy bites, I chose all natural peanut butter and organic dark chocolate and red berries granola. You can also use any type of protein powder you have on hand!
Making these energy bites is super simple! Just add your ingredients to a large bowl and mix well with a spoon. Be sure your nut butter is evenly dispersed throughout the mixture.
After your ingredients are thoroughly mixed, refrigerate for about 30 minutes. Once chilled, scoop round tablespoons of the mixture out and form into balls. This recipe should make about 30 bites, give or take.
Now your energy bites are ready to enjoy! Be sure to keep any leftovers in a sealed container in the fridge to snack on later.
