Urban Decay Stay Naked Foundation Review

If you keep up with the latest in makeup, you’ve probably at least heard about Urban Decay’s latest creation: Stay Naked Weightless Liquid Foundation. Beauty Bloggers all over have been raving about it. So when it was time for me to pick up another bottle of foundation, I opted for UD’s Stay Naked rather than reaching for my old trusty, CoverFX Power Play Foundation.

First, lets start off with the basics. The UD Stay Naked Weightless Foundation is a medium coverage, waterproof, liquid foundation that promises to stay on up to 24 hours. They describe the finish as a “real-skin matte.”

The foundation comes in 50 different shades – including nine shade intensities, three “master tones,” and seven undertones. The shade range is impressive and really makes it easy to find your perfect match.

Now let’s jump into the review!

When they say this foundation goes on like a second skin, they’re really not lying. It sits on your skin so nicely, yet doesn’t settle in fine lines at all. It does take about two layers to get the coverage I need for my acne scarring and dark circles, but I’m convinced I could put layer upon layer of this stuff on and it wouldn’t get cakey. It really is weightless, too. Even when first applying it, I can’t feel it on my face!

But does is stand the test of time? Surprisingly enough, this weightless foundation stays on just as well as foundations that feel like paint on your skin. I actually wanted to test its limits, and wore it to a car show. I was outside, in 95 degree weather, literally all day and my face didn’t budge, even though I was constantly sweating. I was impressed, to say the least! What’s more impressive is that my skin gets oily as the day goes on, and it still did not effect its staying power. While sweating profusely though, this foundation will transfer just a bit, which wasn’t a huge deal to me. With this product being so light and airy, I didn’t expect it to stick the way it did. The “up to 24 hour wear” claims are legit, y’all.

It does not seem to oxidize on my skin after wearing it for a while either, so those oh so accurate shade matches will stay that way.

I’m also pumped that this foundation is vegan and cruelty free! I tend to be picky about the beauty products I use on my skin, so I love the fact that this is formulated without icky ingredients. I’ve been using it for about a month continuously now and I can say it has not caused any abnormal breakouts for me!

All in all, I love this foundation. I think it will definitely be my new go to. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still obsessed with CoverFX Power Play and its unbeatable coverage and staying power, but it’s nice to change things up every now and again.

Take a look at the video below where I demonstrate how I use Urban Decay’s Stay Naked Weightless Foundation and show off the end result after completing my makeup!

As you can see in the video, I prepped my skin with Urban Decay’s Optical Illusion Complexion Primer. I use a flat top brush to apply and blend the foundation. I usually use two pumps in order to achieve the coverage I like, but I prefer to apply one pump at a time. Pump, blend, pump, blend!

Off camera, I followed up with Tarte Shape Tape Concealer on my dark circles and any blemishes that needed it. Then I set everything with W3ll People Bio Baked pressed powder.

In conclusion, Urban Decay Stay Naked Weightless Liquid Foundation is amazing and you should try it out if you’re in the market for a longwear matte foundation. Of course, not everything will work for everyone, but in this case I think it’s worth a shot. I’m definitely glad I strayed away from my tried and true product and changed it up this time.

I’d love to hear what you think about UD’s new foundation! If you’ve tried it, have you used the Stay Naked Concealer yet? I can’t imagine loving something more than Shape Tape, but I may have to try that out next!
